- Frank Pamias, Zig Zag Golf president and designer, first thought of the idea of a zigzag design around 1986 while working as a computer programmer. "With all the typing I was doing I experienced a lot of pain in my wrists. Not just on the computer keyboard but also gripping a golf club caused pain in my wrists. The simple task of bending my wrists was uncomfortable to say the least. I was a golf fanatic and thought there had to be a better way to grip the putter shaft that was painless and comfortable. There were new keyboards that were designed to minimize pain caused by carpal tunnel syndrome and I knew I could do something for my putting grip.
