Goblin Art is the creation of Monica Roxburgh: maskmaker, sculptor and New Zealander. With over a decade of maskmaking experience, she has sold more than 1000 handmade masks through her Portland, Oregon based business, and has designed masks and props for film, television, theater, fashion shows, and for book and album cover art.
Many of Monica's creations contain a strong fantasy element. She credits such artists as Brian Froud, Terry Gilliam, Tim Burton and Maurice Sendak, and the vivid writings of such authors as J.R.R. Tolkien, Lewis Caroll and Neil Gaiman as helping form her creative style.
When Monica isn't working in the studio, she enjoys reading, walking the dog, trying to keep the garden in shape, and studying the classical Indian sitar.
