Jim Gilmore no more for President!
Jim Gilmore has quit the 2008 presidential race saying, "I believe that it takes years of preparation to put in place both the political and financial infrastructure to contest what now amounts to a one-day national primary in February." Gilmore wasn't able to put up an impressive show in the opinion polls and latest figures showed his campaign funds standing at less than half a million. Gilmore thinks that his "late start and the front-loaded nature of the primary schedule have made it impractical to continue to pursue this path towards further public service."
