- Gerry Glynn was born in Dublin and formed an early interest in drawing, painting and sculpture. Apart from a brief period in the National College of Art and Design, he is completely self-taught. He then went on to develop his own distinctive style in oil painting. He was at first influenced by classic sculpture, the surrealists and then, impressionsism.
