Flying out from London Gatwick and Heathrow airports, independent franchise carrier, GB Airways currently operates British Airways services to 30 select locations in France, Spain, Portugal, Gibraltar, Morocco, Tunisia, Malta and Cyprus. Early 2005, the airline launched a new route to Heraklion, Crete and the total number of destinations is now set to rise to 32 with the introduction of Hurghada and Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt and Innsbruck, Austria scheduled for winter 2005/2006.
Also in spring 2005, the airline opened a new base in Manchester, operating British Airways services from Manchester to Malaga, Malta, Paphos in Cyprus, Dubrovnik in Croatia and Tenerife. From October 2005 new services will launch to Las Palmas, Tenerife and Morocco.
Formed as ‘Gibraltar Airways’ in 1931 as a regional carrier with one amphibian aircraft linking Gibraltar and Tangier, GB Airways continues today as a private, family-owned company - proud of its relationship with British Airways (formerly British European Airways) that dates back to 1947.
