After a risqué American Music Awards performance, ABC went into freak mode over Adam Lambert and canceled his appearances on Good Morning America and Rockin’ New Year’s Eve. Queerly, our own media custodian GLAAD got involved in the mess and endorsed ABC’s decision. Pretty clear GLAAD needs ABC’s financial and media support more than it needs the openly gay American Idol runner-up. The live aspect of any potential performance was what seemed to make ABC nervous.
