Jennifer Bevan-Dangel, 1000 Friends of Maryland Deputy Director, spoke Wednesday night to a crowd of over 300 people about the two futures facing Charles County. The County is currently considering an expensive new highway project, the Cross-County Connector Extension, across the western part of the County. Environmentalists fear the road would damage the Mattawoman, which American Rivers ranked the fourth most endangered river in America.
