Title
Reflexology and Reiki, Chalfont St Giles, near Amersham and Beaconsfield - Linda Ratcliffe-Sutton
Description
Reflexology is practised by gently palpating pressure points on the feet or hands with the aim of inducing relaxation and working on zones that help the bodies systems work more efficiently. It is a gentle non-invasive therapy that is suitable for all ages and is an ideal maintenance therapy.
Reflexology dates back to the year 2,500 B.C. when early pictorial evidence shows Egyptian physicians working on the hands and feet of their patients. The ancient Indian and Chinese people also knew early forms of the therapy. It was in the 1930’s when a Physiotherapist called Eunice Ingham who is known as “The Mother of Reflexology” systemised Reflexology, as we know it today.
In the 1960’s Doreen Bayly, a student of Eunice Ingham, bought the therapy to England and started to teach here. In a short period of time Reflexology has gone from strength to strength and is growing more popular every day.
