FiresideLooms.com is a great resource for custom jack and tapestry looms!

Description

Fireside Looms (also known as Fireside Fiberarts) builds custom handweaving looms for individual weavers. We work closely with each fiber artist to include the options and features on their loom so it perfectly matches their weaving style and goals. Each loom is built one-by-one with attention to every detail. Many have mistaken our fine craftsmanship for art due to our furniture quality finish that accompanies the smooth mechanical operation of the loom. We believe that fiber artists deserve to have fine tools so they can concentrate their creativity on their designs and not on the operation of their loom.

Our entire family is involved in the creation of each loom. Larry leads us all in the workshop beginning by selecting high-quality wood with unique grain. Our 2 sons jump in to assist in machining the rough cut wood parts and then return to help with assembly and crating of the loom. Michelle focuses on completing the fine sanding and applying the natural oil finish to bring out the beauty of the wood.

Our Floor Looms are Jack Looms ranging in width from 40"-60". Traditional Tapestry looms begin at 60" wide and continue to 96" - these looms are tall with strong mortise and tenon joinery. Our Cantilever-style Tapestry Loom achieves the strength and tensioning of our Traditional Tapestry in narrower widths of 24", 36" and 48" that more easily fit into any home.

Our Commuter Bench glides on urethane wheels so weavers can easily reach both sides of their loom. Of course you can pair our commuter bench with any brand of loom. You can replace all of your stick temples with our Rotary Temple. The Rotary Temple adjusts to the width of any project by simply sliding it along its track. Once setup for a project, your weaving rolls over the temple to prevent draw-in and create great selvedges - nothing for you to move as you weave...no holes get poked in your fabric. Rotary Temples have been mounted on nearly every brand of loom so it's a solution for all weavers.
