The Internationally Oriented Studies (IOS) program is aimed at both international and German students. In order to emphasize the international focus of our program for both German and international students, we have changed the name from International Studies in Technology (IST) to Internationally Oriented Studies (IOS).
The Jülich Campus of the Aachen University of Applied Sciences, Germany, has responded to the challenges of modern society by developing the Internationally Oriented Studies program (IOS). IOS is designed to allow qualified foreign applicants the opportunity to take advantage of Germany's highly-regarded university system -- without necessarily demonstrating previous knowledge of the German language. This is because first-year engineering courses offered in the IOS program are taught in English! During this period, participation in intensive language classes allows students to gain fluency in the German language as well.
