- Farmers’ Friends was inspired by an article written by a distraught farmer’s wife plagued with stress brought on by the effects of drought. She was surrounded by financial burdens, prospects of a failed business, marriage breakdowns and suicide. She did not ask for hand-outs, she did not ask for support, all she wanted was the understanding of a nation.
Farmers' Friends is not only about centralising information to support farmers affected by drought. We aim to create a nation-wide awareness about how the drought is affecting everyone from farmers to city dwellers. In particular we hope to provide enough educational material to create a better understanding of the drought for our children, who can carry this knowledge into the future.
