The aim of this freely available database is to enable scientists that require specific and validated diagnostic PCR assays to be able to find a suitable diagnostic primer or probe set, and the conditions in which to run the assay. All of the primer and probe sequences found on this site are user submitted. They have been tested and validated under the specific sets of conditions described by the submitter. As many of the other primer and probe sequences listed here have been previously published in peer reviewed journals, they are referenced to their original publication to ensure appropriate acknowledgment is given to the individual who originally designed and validated them. The very nature of crowd-sourcing means that each of us bring something to the table, in order for this database to grow and the range of diagnostic assays develop and become more refined, it is vital that where possible, users submit the primer / probe sequences of validated assays from their labs also.
