Description
Clichés, prejudices, the rise of radicalism, repeated terrorist actions, threats of armed conflicts. All these issues seem to question any idea of proximity between the peoples of the Mediterranean once again. If dialogue is difficult, it is because mutual representations, the collective imaginaries seem unmoving, because there is not the aperture, nor the spaces necessary to foster mutual discovery and exchange.
The Euromedcafe site promoted by the Fondazione Laboratorio Mediterraneo wants to renew and stimulate conversation and exchange between the European and Mediterranean peoples. The Fondazione wants to encourage mutual understanding by means of a cinema of proximity secured by films via the Web, and through sounds, that will enable information about uncertainties in our societies flow with flexibility.
Thanks to the support of the European Commission (Direction General for External Relations) the Fondazione Laboratorio Mediterraneo may achieve two objectives :
