- When the on-line bookselling option came to be, I was greatly frustrated with my options. Ordering books was a hit or miss experience. The last 'straw' so to speak was ordering a first edition children's book in "VG" condition and receiving a book that had tattered boards, pages stained and torn deeply, and broken hinges. My only recourse was to email the seller who rudely replied that I obviously didn't understand the book grading system for rare books, Period. Of course I have found excellent sellers with a high level of integrity, but this was my defining moment so to speak. I keep the book handy to remind myself why I take such care in my listings. The book world has always been a 'cut above' in expectations, and in this 'flat world' there is an even stronger need for integrity. My husband and I intend to operate this store with that philosophy. Open the door to E Ridge Fine Books and you open the door to quality, inside and out!
