- My name is Debra, and I have been making HAND SEWN Victorian Lampshades since 1987....I fell in love with the lampshades while wondering through an antique store in the States in 1986. ..At that time there was no one teaching these shades, no books, and of course no Internet...so I had to teach myself...A lot of sewing, and un-sewing trial and error, sweat and tears...but I did it....I surprised even myself when it wasn't long before they were being bought by several antique stores, friends and their friends.
