The Business Development Centre generates significant economic growth for Hamilton and its environs (Waipa) at a grass roots level working on a daily basis with up to twenty small-to-medium sized enterprises at various stages of their development and growth. It is estimated that eighty percent of businesses in Hamilton employ five or less staff. These businesses are critical to the success of the local economy through providing employment opportunities, essential services to the city’s larger business community and their contribution to the well being, lifestyle and infrastructure of Hamilton as a whole.
Through a range of tailored programmes specialist staff provides advisory services and mentoring for new and existing enterprises in need of external input to move to the next stage of their development.
