I am a Canadian ASIC verification engineer. That’s why I spell things weird. I have a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering. I work for a start-up and I feel the pain of everyone who works for a start-up. That doesn’t mean I’m not critical of start-ups.

I started this blog in spring 2006 when I was laid off for the first time. As I was cleaning out my personal bookmarks I thought about all of the knowledge I’d accumulated in that position and how keeping a list of technical links I find interesting/useful was probably better hosted somewhere other than a company computer that I couldn’t take with me.

Realistically, my subconscious was probably trying to find a constructive way to keep me busy during the job search. It’s also a good way for my to practice my technical writing skills.

Although I have a career in hardware verification, I have a strong interest and background in programming. I find that the two go hand-in-hand.

I keep my personal name / information off of the web site because I’m still a little hesitant about whether or not blogging helps or hinders your career. Signs point to hinder, unless you are in a media position.
