- The European League for Middle Level Education was the first international affiliate of the National Middle School Association (NMSA), based in Ohio, U.S.A. The European League for Middle Level Education (ELMLE) was founded in 1986 and is dedicated to promoting and improving middle level education at international and overseas schools throughout the greater European and Mediterranean regions. Through affiliation with the NMSA, we keep our international membership informed about the latest trends and practices in education for youth between the ages of 10 to 15. Membership is open to any individual or institution serving the early adolescent child in the greater European Region, including North Africa and the Middle East. ELMLE is governed by a Steering Committee of nine members elected from its diverse membership.
