EOWA’s role is to administer the Equal Opportunity for Women in the Workplace Act 1999 (Commonwealth) and through education, assist organisations to achieve equal opportunity for women.
Over one million Australian women work for organisations that report to EOWA, comprising close to one quarter of the total female workforce, 32% of managers and 9% of CEOs. In 2006, 81,000 of these women are working for EOWA Employers of Choice for Women.
