Description
Eastwood and East Kilbride Canoe Club is based in summer at the James Hamilton Heritage Park in East Kilbride, Scotland and in winter at Blantyre Sports Centre. The club was formed by a group of local paddlers in 1996. Our members mainly come from the Eastwood and East Kilbride areas though some travel from further afield to paddle with us.
We have about 70 members at the moment but we are always looking for more, especially if you are an experienced paddler with your own boat! We have a wide range of experience in the club ranging from those just starting to paddle to BCU Level 3 coaches.
Over the last few years we have seen the first of those who learned to paddle with us start to gain coaching qualifications and we have built up a good bunch of people who paddle all year round. We are mainly interested in white water kayak paddling but some of the members also paddle open canoe and sea kayaks.
