Description

Excerpted from the website description:

The Heron turbine is an ideal tool for co-generation of heat/cold and power, and is also suitable for stand alone electric power generation. The latest Heron turbine is a perfect match for the 21th century, fitting the general trend of increased decentralisation in power generation and in cogeneration in configuration with high efficiencies and low emissions. The Heron turbine is a two-shaft gas turbine of 1400 kW with intercooling, heat recuperation and two stage combustion and can be supplied with a unique variable heat system. The machine has a remarkably high electrical efficiency of 42,9% at ISO conditions, compared to 25-34% for other small size gas turbines. The nitrogen oxide emission in the exhaust gas is less than 20 g/GJ at 15% O2, carbon monoxide and unburned hydrocarbons are negligible. Relatively low turbine inlet temperatures and the low pressure before the turbine wheel have opened the way to far-reaching simplicity in the design; this, in combination with a robust and conservative design, therefore results in a reduced maintenance frequency and cost and increased availability and reliability. The turbine consists of modular components, which can be easily replaced. Installation of the unit requires a footprint of 9.5m x 2.5m for the complete system. The standardised package can be installed in the open air and is easily transportable. This provides additional relocation flexibility, if site economics change. Specific examples are: agriculture, bio-industry, sewage water cleaning, waste steam utilisation, food industry; horticulture: for the simultaneous provision with electric power, photosynthesis, NOx-free off-gases for carbon dioxide fertilisation, heat for the greenhouses and the soil (plant roots); large buildings, hospitals, airports, large living areas, office buildings, breweries.
