Description
Dr. Debrann Brea McGrew is a licensed veterinarian with a masters degree in comparative pathology. She received her training at the University of California at Davis and has had a private veterinary practice since 1983. Her area of expertise is in herd health, serving ranchers and farmers throughout the western states.
Dr. McGrew has studied managed grazing techniques for many years with several animal species on a variety of biotypes. She has paid attention to animal behavior and "trains" the animals that are used for grazing projects. Importance of animal age and forage consumption is considered in the herd. Because she has worked with multiple-species grazing, she has observed different diet (forage) preferences among species. She has the experience to make recommendations for and to manage multi-species grazing to maximize forage utilization and achieve superior grazing results.
Robert McGrew has been a professional firefighter in northern California since 1973 and currently is with the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire Department. This enables him to contribute valuable knowledge of priority grazing patterns from the viewpoint of the inherent nature of fire.
