EarthquakeForecast Services provides earthquake forecasts and weather related forecasts to the public, private, business and government sectors. The company was founded in 1999 as a spin off its parent company, Synthetic Hydrocarbons. EarthquakeForecast Services is devoted to providing critical information which can warn of danger and allow reduction of the large death tolls associated with major quakes and other worldwide natural disasters. Although this information should be free, the equipment, the data, its collection and preparation require time and money. Thus, the fee for regional forecasts is $100.00 and the forecast fee for the next major worldwide earthquake is $30.00.
Synthetic Hydrocarbons was founded in 1990 and originally engaged in designing, manufacturing, and distributing perfumes. In 1992, the company discovered a synthetic substitute for ambergris and, in 1993, with the kind help of Dr. Rowe, determined the structure of Lavender Augustifolia using mass spectroscopy. Now Synthetic Hydrocarbons offers fine quality, synthetic, cut gemstones of ruby, sapphire, amethyst and aquamarine for use in jewelry.
The forecaster is Mary Ann Slaby (photo is from childhood). She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California at Berkeley with a major in Zoology and took graduate courses in physics at several universities with an emphasis in field theory. She has been forecasting earthquakes for about seven years. The method is scientific and proprietary. Using a novel, new approach, she invented, designed, and built the equipment which produces a pre-quake signal. It is for sale to a principaled concern. She has presented a series of papers at the annual meetings of the American Geophysical Union on: A Novel Origin of the Moon (1994); proposed, A Second, Wandering Terrestrial Magnetic Pole (1995); A Secular Origin of Seismic Activity (1995); and An Accurate Physical-Chemical Method of Detecting Respiration and thus Life in Billion Year and Older Samples (1999).
