- I grew up in Algiers, the part of New Orleans located on the West bank of the Mississippi -an area left intact after Katrina. In 2004, I graduated from the University of New Orleans with honors. I conducted my thesis research under the supervision of Doctor Richard Speaker and Professor Roger DeSanti of the Department of Curriculum and Instruction. The research project was a quantitative study on teachers' knowledge and misconceptions of Attention Deficit-Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). I undertook doctoral study at Temple University in Philadelphia in 2005 and hold a masters degree in Educational Psychology.
