NORFOLK—EVMS Dean and Provost Gerald J. Pepe, Ph.D. has appointed veteran administrator, C. Donald Combs, Ph.D., to serve as associate dean for planning and health professions at EVMS.
Combs, former vice president for planning and program development, received his bachelor of arts degree and a master’s degree in political science from Texas Tech University. He received a doctorate in political science from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. Combs is director of the National Center for Collaboration in Medical Modeling and Simulation, a joint program of EVMS and Old Dominion University. He is active in numerous professional associations including the Association of American Medical Colleges.
“Don has played a significant role in our health professions programs, particularly the MPH program, and has been a leader in developing and expanding our expertise in accrual of funding for several educational and research efforts …” Pepe said.
