Christ's healing began 2,000 years ago but 30 years back Christ's work was continued by the Rev. Jesus V. Fernandez, S.J., with the inter-parish cooperation of several Christian Family Movement (CFM) units as these laid the first foundations on Sept. 21, 1969 and registered on Dec. 23, of the same year. Their charity missions to bring Christmas cheer to the blind and their families gave birth to the Ephpheta Foundation for the Blind, Inc..
