- King Ludwig II. became one of the first aficionados of Eilles Gourmet, after being introduced to the coffee by the roaster Joseph Eilles. His premises in Munich’s Residenzstrasse were already well known to coffee connoisseurs by the time he was promoted to purveyor of the Royal Bavarian Court in 1873.
