Custima International was established in the UK in 1978 with the objective of delivering utility billing software and support services as well as to public service and other municipal customers. It successfully exported its products and services to the USA, Australia, Ireland, Hungary, Mexico, South Africa, Swaziland, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Botswana, Namibia and Malawi.
In August 1998, Custima International was acquired by an American Corporation, USCS International, and was ultimately merged in with another of USCS’s companies, Cabledata Inc., a similar organisation focused on billing and customer service for the telephony, satellite and cable TV. They, too, had global coverage.
