Overview

One of the greatest impediments to the successful use of alarms is that the parent/caregiver has to sleep in the patients's room, to ensure that the patient wakes up and that procedures are followed. Many parents find this to be the most objectionable aspect of training a child, and have wished that they could sleep in their own room and be woken up only when the child has an accident. This is the key to our DryBuddy patient-friendly moisture alarm therapy - it wakes the caregiver (sleeping in the privacy of his or her own room) as well as the patient.

Parents may also object to having to purchase expendable supplies for use in some wetness sensing systems. The DryBuddy System requires no expendable supplies, thereby creating significant savings while you are using DryBuddy. What you initially purchase - illustrated above - is all that you need to effectively use the DryBuddy System.

In addition, the DryBuddy Enuresis System also facilitates keeping proper records for the patient's doctor.

DryBuddy's unique system is patent pending.

How DryBuddy works: a simple 3-step process...

1. DryBuddy sensor registers the early drops of urine sleepwet. 2. When this dampness begins, the sensor sends a wireless signal which is picked up by a receiver in the patients's room, attached to an alarm. The receiver then transmits the signal to additional receiver/alarm module(s) in the home. 3. The additional module(s) (in the caregiver's room or elsewhere) then alerts the caregiver, who wakes the patient and makes sure that the proper steps are taken. This is the difference between DryBuddy and other enuresis products - many children are too sleepy to take care of themselves on their own - that is why the intervention of a parent/caregiver is important and necessary for successful training. However with DryBuddy it is not necessary for the caregiver to sleep in the same room with the patient in order to be alerted.

What you get with DryBuddy: 1. Sensor to register the first drops of wetness. 2. Transceiver/Alarm module for use in the patient's room. 3. Transceiver/Alarm module for the parent/caregiver's room and/or other alternate rooms. 4. Remote keyfob to help reset the DryBuddy system.

Why DryBuddy works:

Three factors keep the child from waking alone and carrying out hygienic and medical procedures: (1) The body's natural signals fail to tell the child his or her bladder is full. (2) They are sleeping too deeply to awaken to a sound, light or vibration. (3) The child is too sleepy and lacks the motivation to get up and do the needful, falling back to sleep without concern. One of the greatest impediments to the successful use of other systems that just use alarms is that a parent or caregiver has to sleep in the child's room to ensure that the child wakes up and that procedures are followed. Many parents find this to be the most objectionable aspect of training the child, and wish that they could sleep in their own room and be woken up only when the child urinates.

The DryBuddy approach is unique because it allows the parent/caregiver and the patient to sleep in privacy and comfort.

Another important difference is that the sensor is wireless, so that there are no wires to entangle the patient or cause discomfort. The sensor is small, light, and comfortable, and remains in place while the patient sleeps. The magnetic cap makes attaching and removing the sensor easy and convenient and does not damage clothing.

Yet another important difference is that you do not need any special expendable or disposable supplies for the DryBuddy system. This can provide significant savings for you over the lifetime of your use of the product.

After a period of time, a conditioning linkage takes place - instead of a full bladder leading to a few drips leading to a caregiver's alarm, who then wakes the child to go to the bathroom and clean up, the full bladder leads the child directly to the bathroom.

"More than 80% of the children who use these alarms become, and more importantly, stay dry."
