Title
Drushti Foundation : Drushti Medical and Research Trust
Description
There are 135 million visually impaired and 45 million blind people in the world today, and this number is going to increase .Up to 100 million people will needlessly go blind by the year 2020.And India , especially rural India, will house the maximum number of Blind in the World.
Cost-effective interventions are available for all major blinding conditions. However, particularly in rural India, the resources available are grossly insufficient to tackle the problem. The solution to the problem lies in the maximum and efficient utilization of the available resources while maintaining the standard of excellence and offering equitable distribution of the services. This is the central philosophy of the Drushti Foundation
असतोमा सद्गमय। तमसोमा ज्योतिर् गमय। मृत्योर्मामृतं गमय॥
Asato mā sad gamaya Tamaso mā jyotir gamaya Mrtyormā amṛtam gamaya
From ignorance, lead me to truth; From darkness, lead me to light; From death, lead me to immortality

- introduction
- The Drushti Foundation was established in 1987 with the aim of providing equitable eye care facilities to indigent patients. Over the years, our quest to find the path ‘from darkness unto light’ has taken us across many miles and milestones, while offering quality ophthalmic care of international standards to our patients.
