Playamar is the area of Torremolinos where Dreamtime Properties is located, along the main road leading to the beach. It is also only a ten minute walk into the centre of Torremolinos.
Playamar has become a very popular place to live due to its excellent location. There is a variety of restaurants and bars in Playamar such as 'Dream' Disco Bar which is next to our office. Here they have a live DJ and karaoke every night, Sky Sports, Pool table, terrace and music till 4a.m. Also there are is a Chinese restaurant, steak house, pizzeria's as well as the traditional British restaurants and bars. The busy nightlife of Torremolinos or Benalmadena is only 5 to 10 mins in a taxi. The Benalmadena Marina is just 45 minutes stroll along the promenade and the excellent beaches are only a few minutes walk. Here you can eat in the seafront restauarants called 'chringuitos' and party in the high season in the disco bars on the beach. Also Playamar is situated within easy access to the main motorway and is only a short distance to Malaga Airport. The expansion of the area from Benyamina to Playamar and Los Alamos has made the area increasingly popular with many new developments taking shape but still the area is not over-built with many places to walk and enjoy this area of Torremolinos.
Torremolinos is the biggest of the resorts and probably the most famous. Located 7km west of Malaga airport it was the first resort to be developed back in the early sixties when it was little more than a fishing village. Today the town reflects its heritage with several fish bars located in the centre and on the beach (called Chiringuitos). The centre is dominated by the famous pedestrian area of Calle San Miguel with its boutiques and various shops. At the end of San Miguel a steep flight of steps leads down to El Bajondillo which is a picturesque area full of restaurants and souvenir shops. At the bottom is the beach of El Bajondillo. The 9km of beach starts from the east, from the outskirts of Malaga near Los Alamos to Playamar beach along to the west to La Carihuela and on to Benalmadena Marina.
