I was born Benjamin David Cockcroft in 1958 to young parents who decided to travel before creating successful careers as writers/artists/university professors. I spent my early years in Latin America. I appreciate and respect other cultures and am bilingual. Until returning permanently to the west coast as an adult, I spent time living in Texas, Ohio, Wisconsin, New Jersey, upstate New York, and New York City. I attended the University of California at Santa Cruz, graduating with honors in biology and chemistry in 1981.
After earning my medical degree from the University of California at Irvine, I completed an internship in Fresno and a family practice residency at San Pedro Peninsula Hospital. In 1989 I moved to Seaside, Oregon. I am board certified in family practice and am past president of the Clatsop County Medical Society, as well as having served 2 years as the Chief of Staff for the Providence Seaside Hospital.
I studied real estate and aced the state and national real estate exams while continuing to work as a physician. I then joined Pete Anderson Realty, as well as the County and National Association of Realtors. I have the same high ethical standards as a realtor as I do as a medical doctor. I have the same commitment to excellence, continuing education, and solid knowledge base. I can help you determine your buying power, utilize many resources to assist you in your home search, assist you in the selection process by providing objective information about each property, provide due diligence during the evaluation of the property, help you understand different financing options, identify qualified lenders, and guide you through the closing process making sure that everything flows together smoothly.
