About Us
The Douglas Arms Hotel is located in the main street in Banchory, an attractive village which sits amidst some of the most spectacular scenery in Scotland. Ancient pine forests and the highest mountain range in Britain are all nearby as our some of the well known Malt Whisky distilleries most of which have visitor centres, along with numerous castles and a large number of excellent golf courses. The local golf course in Banchory is right behind the Hotel and there are about 20 others within about a 20 mile radius from here.
Banchory itself is about 16 miles from Aberdeen the principal city in the North East of Scotland. Balmoral castle is also close by lying about 30 miles to the West further up the Dee valley.
The River Dee with it's world renowned salmon fishing flows through the village and is within easy walking distance of the Hotel.
