- John ("Juan") Xuna, a Candidate to the US Congress (General Election 2002), has had international responsibilities during most of his 30+ years Engineering career. During the 1970's and 80's he was a Field Engineer who globetrotter the world, installing radars and other telecommunications equipment (Airborne Instruments Laboratories, and Databit Inc.). Then as a Telecommunications Officer for British Airways he took advantage of the 90% travel discounts to which he was entitled as airline employee, and continue traveling the world as vacations permitted. He founded -and directed until his departure- LodgeNet Entertainment's International Operations (a provider of pay-per-view to the hospitality industry). During his tenure (1994-1997) at LodgeNet he was a frequent flyer who visited -several times- every major capital city in Latin America, as well as many other cities in Asia, and Europe. As Vice President of International Sales for Independent Technologies Co.(a manufacturer of Telephony systems) he continue meeting with business executives in Europe and Latin America. Xuna -born in Vigo, Spain- graduated as Electrical Engineer (University of Puerto Rico, 1974). Years later he earned a Master degree in Telecommunications (University of Colorado, Boulder, 1993). Juan was a pioneer in the development of applications software for personal workstations, and holds several copyrights in database design. He founded two software entrepreneurships (1979,1992). Due to his candidature he has resigned to his position (as VP of ITC, a Nebraska company). However, his relationship with ITC's President, Daryl Ingalsbe, and with Vice Presidents Tim Odell and Hank Smith, are as cordial as ever. Juan will continue prospecting sales opportunities for ITC on a part-time basis, and being paid commissions and finder's fees for his services.
