Sílvia Henrique Rocha - Kantebeen (1978) studies Consumer Sciences at Wageningen University. She was born in Sete Lagoas in the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais. After studying economy at the Federal University of Uberlândia for one year, she left for the Netherlands in 2002. She enrolled at Wageningen University immediately after her arrival. In addition to that, she learnt the Dutch language at the James Boswell Institute of Utrecht University. She is a volunteer for Organización Latinoamericana Holandesa OLAH and "Het Gilde" in Wageningen.

Pim Kantebeen (1976) was born in Heerlen in the Dutch province of Limburg. In 1998, he travelled to Brazil for the first time as a student of Wageningen University. He did a practical period at the Brazilian national research enterprise Embrapa in Sete Lagoas. Since then, he has spent a lot of time in South-America. After his graduation, he worked a couple of years for the Royal Netherlands Society of Agricultural Sciences. After this, he worked as a freelance agricultural consultant. Currently, he works for the NABUUR Foundation and he is a member of the board of the Agromisa Foundation .
