Dole Food Company’s 5 A Day Program was founded in 1991. This program is recognized in the U.S. and throughout the world as a leader in children’s nutrition education and the 5 A Day for Better Health Program.
The Dole 5 A Day Program is funded by contributions from various Dole Food Company marketing and sales divisions. Program staff members focus their efforts on five major areas:
Developing nutrition education programs to encourage elementary school children to eat 5 to 9 servings of fruits and vegetables a day to promote better health.
