- Q: On june 16th, 2004 my 27 lb sheltie was tested for heartworms, and had a clean bill of health (i.e no heartworms). with it now being 8/24/04 is it too late to get him started on heartworm medication, or do i need to get him retested prior to giving him the medication? thanks!
