F Dobson started a precision engineering business in Blackburn based on the principal “only the best is good enough” and when the Dobson and Beaumont families merged their engineering interests in 1978 and quickly doubled their joint capacity, the success of their enterprise owed much to the long established reputation for excellence of product and integrity in all dealings earned by previous generations of directors and employees.
