DomainNameSanity.com was formed in the year 2000 by a group of Internet enthusiasts and entrepreneurs who believe that the system of registering domain names, obtaining a web site and getting e-mail is so chaotic and expensive that the average Internet user is often confused or unaware of affordable possibilities. The founders believed there should be a simple, inexpensive way for the average Internet user to get a package of services to include their own unique domain name, a hosted web site, online web site building tools and get e-mail addressed to their easy-to-remember domain name.

We own our own web servers and house them in a secure facility featuring a fully redundant, multi-homed network providing fast, reliable, scalable Internet connectivity. We have direct, redundant fiber-optic connections to Mzima Networks and Cogent Communications. Mzima's national network utilizes multiple Tier-1 carriers such as Level3 and Global Crossing, in addition to extensive local peering arrangements with hundreds of major ISP's. Our network traffic is managed by Cisco routers and Allied Telesyn switches at the network edge. Fault tolerant systems are built with N+1 redundancy to avoid any disruption of our service delivery. Redundant Liebert temperature control systems, Uninterruptable Power Supply, private generator backup, raised flooring and smoke & fire detection systems all ensure that our servers reside in the optimal physical environment required to keep them available 24 x 7 x 365.

We also recognize that disasters can happen anywhere. To further protect you, we maintain a copy of your web site on servers that we own in another state which uses a different service to connect to the Internet. That backup facility perpetually monitors the main facility to determine that our client's web sites are running. If a failure occurs, it automatically switches your hosting to that backup facility to keep your site running.
