Dixie Lee was founded in Belleville, Ontario in 1964 and has been a part of the food services industry in Canada for more than forty years. The concept was initially marketed as supplementary food items to existing restaurants. Dixie Lee began selling franchises on July 21st, 1988. Mr. David Silvester started in the business in 1970 as an owner/operator of a single Dixie Lee outlet in Castlegar, British Columbia.
