Duncan & Duncan Wetland and Endangered Species Training

It is essential that professionals stay up-to-date in this time of evolving Federal environmental regulations. At D&D WEST, professionals experienced at working with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and the U.S. Fish And Wildlife Service (USFWS) teach the basics and finer points of: the USACE Wetland Delineation Manual; identification of wetland vegetation and hydric soils; the Endangered Species Act; and the identification of Threatened and Endangered species.

Jake Duncan

Jake is a former regulatory specialist for the USACE and wildlife biologist for the USFWS. He has 18 years of field experience and 12 years as an instructor (government and private) in wetland delineation, hydric soils, and wetland vegetation. While with the Charleston District USACE Jake served as the District representative for: the Wetland Delineation Certification Program, testing of Field Indicators of Hydric Soils, the Hydro-Geomorphic Functional Assessment Procedure, Hydrophytic vegetation identification,Natural Resource Conservation Services Agricultural MOA, and wetland delineation expert on several national task forces.

Lori Duncan

Lori is a former regulatory specialist with the USFWS. She has 17 years experience surveying for and resolving issues dealing with endangered and threatened species, and 9 years experience instructing endangered and threatened species and is currently an instructor in Endangered Species for the USFWS National Conservation & Training Center. In her work with the USFWS, she reviewed projects and their impacts to Federally protected species and critical habitat in South Carolina in accordance with the Endangered Species Act. She completed and reviewed biological opinions and informal consultations on Federally protected species and critical habitat, proposed habitat conservation plans, related National Environmental Policy Act documents, and other technical reports. Additionally, Lori has completed, reviewed, and assisted in the implementation of the South Carolina Red-cockaded Woodpecker Safe Harbor program. She also gained extensive field experience worldwide in surveying,, and handling a variety of endangered and threatened plant and animal species.
