Dave Copeland
The personal Web site of author Dave Copeland. Copeland is the first journalist to gain inside access to the Israeli mafia, a brutal crime syndicate that operated in New York City in the 1980's. His book on the gang -- Blood & Volume: Life Inside New York's Israeli Mafia -- will be released by Barricade Books in early 2007.
Copeland also keeps an almost daily blog full of in-progress writing and irreverent humor, as well as links to interesting tidbits and links pulled from his daily reading. The site and blog have a loyal following and garners approximately 700 unique visitors each week.
Copeland, 34, was raised in Melrose, Mass. and now resides just outside of Boston. He has been a staff writer for the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review and the Dow Jones News Service, and his articles and commentary have appeared in dozens of national magazines and newspapers, including the Wall Street Journal online, Reason and Boston Common.
