Darwin Keyboards was founded in November 1995 to develop products for a forgotten niche -- the computer keyboard. The Company believed that a computer keyboard can help make your computer easier, more efficient, and more fun to use.
From its creation, Darwin focused on designing and manufacturing the highest quality and most innovative keyboard products. The Company's focus resulted in the NoteBoard, the first external keyboard designed specifically for notebook computers, and the SmartBoard (now available), a keyboard which represents a dramatic step forward in typing comfort.
In addition to our hardware products, the Company developed keyboard-related software that greatly enhances the computing experience. Our first software product, LaunchBoard, revolutionalized keyboard design by providing one-touch access to Web Sites and applications. LaunchBoard was the precursor to today's standard keyboards from Compaq, Hewlett-Packard, et al. which feature Internet-specific access buttons. We partnered with many of the top Web Sites on the Internet to develop LaunchBoard, including Yahoo!, USA Today, Disney.com, and ESPN SportsZone.
