Located near the Columbia River in Eastern Washington, Darden Welsh Ponies enjoys the virtual year-round warmth and sunshine of the desert. This ideal climate has provided the perfect environment for raising our ponies, most of which can comfortably foal outside on pasture. With the unique and diverse terrain, there are endless trails and obstacles to help keep our ponies well-rounded, both physically and mentally.

We are familiar with the landscape and community and participate in local and non-local breed events. In good standing with the Welsh Pony Society of America since 1965, we pride ourselves on our reputation and the quality of animals we’ve raised.

Our start came when we began a search for suitable ponies for our children, Andy and Denise, at the time 3 and 1. With the purchase of our first stallion, Caerwyn Hi Ho and a mare, Skylane Dawn, our focus turned from ponies for our children to becoming serious breeders of the Welsh Pony, at the time Section A’s. By the end of our first year, our herd grew to three mares with foals, a yearling, and our beloved stallion, Hi Ho. We were sold on the Welsh Pony and how wonderful their dispositions were.
