'''Bathroom Remodeling and Kitchen Remodeling in Fairfax, Va.'''

Description

Remodeling your kitchen or bathroom is a worthwhile and satisfying investment. Preparing family meals; relaxing over a cup of coffee in your brand new kitchen; or leisurely soaking in your new whirlpool tub are just a few of the bonuses of remodeling your home. A new kitchen or bathroom is a good investment and you can enjoy reaping the benefits every day through a well-designed and efficient plan coupled with quality workmanship.

I’d like to offer my personalized construction services to complete a quality remodeling of your kitchen or bathroom. I have remodeled kitchens and bathrooms for over 30 years and I will bring this extensive experience to your remodeling project. I have built several custom homes, completed light commercial jobs and have done major whole house remodels, but have chosen to specialize in kitchen and bathroom remodels. Kitchens and bathrooms are the most utilized rooms in the house and the most complicated to design and remodel. When designing these rooms, I focus on details such as: work triangles, overhead and under counter lighting, sinks mounts, elaborate crown detailing, cabinet, counter, and flooring finishes, and quality of materials. Please visit the photo sections of my webpage to view a selection of kitchens and bathrooms I’ve remodeled.

Daniels Kitchen and Bathroom Remodeling is a small company that provides attention to detail. Let me provide the experience, tools and knowledge needed to make your remodeling experience both pleasant and rewarding. Know that I will be personally involved in all aspects of your remodeling project and keep in mind that you are purchasing my attention to detail, high standard of quality and dependability.

Thank you for your time,

Mark Robert Daniels

For your new bathroom

Frameless shower doors for beauty and ease of cleaning. 3/16" to 3/8" thick. Kohler Frameless

2 or 3 recessed can lights with shower trim, so you can actually see in the shower

A light on each side of your mirror to light your face from the sides. Dual sconces. Theatrical lighting for your "vanity".

A quiet higher volume fan to get rid of humidity, 110 cfm 1.8 sones.

An ADA height elongated toilet with a decent flush rate of 500 grams or better. Toilet Ratings

Off the shelf granite top with under mount sink. Great looks and value. I don't recommend marble for your bathroom or kitchen. It tends to be too soft and marks easily.

A fabricated step in front of a platform tub can look nice with towels or nicnac's on it, but stepping down or worse yet, stepping up wet, can be dangerous and lose your balance. Its best to have the area outside of the tub, close or at the same height as the inside of the tub. This coupled with "sitting" on the side of the tub and swinging your legs over while entering and exiting.

A good test for any countertop or hard surface material you are considering is what I call the "key" test. When shopping at your local "big box" take a sample of that granite, Corian, quartz crystal composites(Silestone), marble or plastic laminate (Formica) and try to scratch the sample with your car keys. You will probably find that corian and marble may scratch easily with darker colors really showing the scratches. As far as staining goes on surfaces, granite is porous and can stain in the right situation. Softer marbles can have their finishes ruined with toothpaste over night. Corian seems not to stain easily but can "yellow" over time. Silestone type products seem to be a good synthetic material and time will tell as I have not tore one out yet to remodel. Personally I like granite tops with a natural character and "movement" in their look. A perfect surface like Black Absolute granite will show a grain of salt on your counter. I like a more casual than formal, comfortable more than high tech feel in a kitchen, but thats my taste.

Upgrades for your bathroom

Opening chin height window in your shower area. Or maybe skylight over the shower. Seeing outside is a great return on investment.

Seat in the shower area with extra shower valve and hand held spray. You have less of a tendency to fall over washing your feet. Women for shaving. Hand held to rinse and clean shower. Of safety value to the elderly for bathing. Don't have to get all the way down or up out of a tub and can sit at chair height to take a shower. ( I almost think this a necessity)

A heated tile floor keeps your bathroom temperature just where you want it.
