- Beat butter until it's nice and creamy. Gradually add brown sugar, beating until well blended. Add flour and salt and continue beating until smooth. Stir in vanilla extract. Shape dough into 16 balls. Place pretzel rods on ungreased baking sheets. Press a ball of dough onto cut end of each pretzel rod and press the dough firmly with fork so it looks like broom bristles. Bake at 350 for about 10 minutes (give or take). Cool down thoroughly. Place the brooms on some wax paper and spoon melted candy coating over pretzel and cookie where they join. Let stand until firm then decorate with frosting any way you want.
