Our roots go back to 1982, when world renowned karate insructor, author, and historian Randall Hassell and his business partners started Focus Publications. Our first three books were:

Over the years, we published many other book titles, and began producing videotapes. In 1998, we sold our book publishing unit and formed Damashi Productions to focus on producing traditional karate historical, documentary, and instructional DVDs and videotapes.
