Title
Connecticut Assisted Living Association
Description
The Connecticut Assisted Living Association (CALA) was formed in June of 1995 as a trade association to represent the Assisted Living industry in Connecticut. CALA's mission is to promote the growth of Assisted Living in the state including the development, marketing and operation of communities. CALA provides education and training while fostering ethical standards and the best business practices. CALA also serves as a legislative advocate and information resource for its members.
Assisted Living is the fastest growing senior living alternative nationwide. It is being driven by consumer choice of residential lifestyle, dignity, and comprehensive health and personal care services. The adoption of the Assisted Living regulations by Connecticut in November 1994 paved the way for this growth to come to our state. With the frail elderly segment of the U.S. populations expected to grow to 7.3 million by 2020, opportunities for specialization in long term care are increasing.
