- Dr. Brian Den Beste, our founder, traveled to multiple laser refractive centers in Canada and the United States before opening LaserVue in Orlando Florida in April of 1996. He has assisted in over 25,000 LASIK surgery procedures in Orlando and has helped train over 30 surgeons in LASIK Eye Surgery techniques in Orlando. He was a co investigator for the CustomCornea® Custom Lasik Eye Surgery FDA trials. Dr. Den Beste was raised in Iowa, completed his undergraduate studies at Northwestern College and graduated with honors from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago in 1980. He then completed a one-year residency in family practice optometry at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. After one year in private practice in Iowa, Dr. Den Beste was recruited to Miami as a staff optometrist at the prestigious Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, University of Miami Department of Ophthalmology. Four and a half years later (1987) he and his family moved to Orlando, Florida where he has since continued a practice limited to consultation in ocular disease and laser vision correction.
