In the lead article of the Spring 2002 issues entitled CROET, Transforming Government Liabilities into Community Assets, the reindustrializtion activities and successes in transforming the former K-25 Uranium Processing Plant to a private sector based brownfield industrial complex are chronicled. Lawrence Young, President and CEO of CROET is the author. This continues an impressive series of articles and awards received by CROET and it's partners at the U.S. Department of Energy and Bechtel Jacobs Corporation for the work being done under the auspices of reindustrialization.

The Community Reuse Organization of East Tennessee oversees and subleases the area's prime industrial and commercial properties. Many of its properties were once used to support the World War II nuclear effort while others are pristine greenfields. All offer tenant access to top-notch facilities, equipment, personnel, and technologies.

CROET's facilities, located in the East Tennessee Technology Park (ETTP), are known for their rich history in the Oak Ridge area.
